Halifax Pop Explosion is back for another year of awesome music, entertainment, activities and more. Today on the blog, Hazelview Properties gives you a sneak peek at what to expect for this year’s festival. Our Halifax communities are located in the most vibrant and bustling areas of the city, within walking distance to all of life’s amenities.

What is Halifax Pop Explosion?

Halifax Pop Explosion is an international music festival and conference that showcases 180 bands in 20 venues over five days to over 30,000 fans. This festival has been taking place annually in Halifax for over 20 years and is an internationally acclaimed music event. Halifax Pop Explosion showcases new, innovating and exciting talent in genres from hip hop to punk and from folk to indie rock. You can expect to see acts such as July Talk, Travis Scott, Purity Ring, Cancer Bats, Dear Rouge and many more.

Tickets and Venues

Halifax Pop Explosion 2015 will be taking place from October 20th until October 24th in a variety of venues including the Atlantica Hotel, Gus’s Pub and Grill and the Olympic Community Hall. The Atlantica Hotel is less than a 15-minute transit ride from Hazelview’s 41 Cowie Hill Road Apartment in Halifax. Early bird passes are on sale now with wristbands going for $79 and “skip the line” passes for $159. Most events are 19+.

Purity Ring

Purity Ring is a Canadian electronic music duo formed in 2010. The band consists of Megan James on vocals and Corin Roddick handling instrumentals.

Alvvays

Alvvays has become a household Canadian indie-rock band, with their self-titled first album reaching number one on US college charts in 2014. This indie-pop/rock trio consists of Molly Rankin, Kerri MacLellan and Alec O’Hanley.

Rich Aucoin

Rich Aucoin is a Canadian indie-rock musician based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was nominated for the 2012 Polaris Music Prize and has won a Prism Prize for his music video “Brian Wilson is A.L.I.V.E”.
