Explore your local parks this summer with Hazelview’s guide to parks in the Lower Sackville area. The following options are great places to get some fresh air, exercise and enjoy quality family time. Hazelview Properties has apartments throughout Lower Sackville including our 70 Cobequid Road, 30 Touchstone Court and 38 Quinella Court communities.

Hemlock Ravine Park
Hemlock Ravine Park is a 15-minute drive from Hazelview’s 70 Cobequid Road community in Lower Sackville. The park provides a tranquil location for some outdoor relaxation, complete with a (naturally) heart-shaped pond known as ‘Julie’s Pond.’ Hemlock Ravine Park offers quiet trails and an off-leash dog area for man’s best friend. In the wintertime, Julie’s Pond is a great place to enjoy a small family skate and some delicious hot chocolate.

Sandy Lake Park
Sandy Lake Park is a 12-minute drive from Hazelview’s 38 Quinella Court  community. This park offers beautiful woodland trails perfect for hiking and walking. In the summer, the park offers a number of picnic tables overlooking the lake. Sandy Lake Park is the perfect scenic place for a picnic, so grab some snacks, refreshing drinks and a few activities for the kids (such as a Frisbee or soccer ball) and head to the park! DeWolf Park
DeWolf Park is a 15-minute transit ride from Hazelview’s 70 Cobequid Road community in Lower Sackville. The park is located on the shores of the beautiful Bedford Basin. This public park features a one-mile walking path along the water and roadside, perfect for taking your pooch for a walk. There is also an elaborate play area and playground for the little ones.

Sackville Lakes Provincial Park
Sackville Lakes Provincial Park is a ten-minute bicycle ride from Hazelview’s 30 Touchstone Court community. The park offers a stunning forest setting in a near-urban environment perfect for walking, hiking, picnicking and even canoeing or kayaking. Off Cobequid road (near Sackville) this provincial park features trails filled with dogs both on and off leash, bicycle riders and families enjoying the great outdoors. The park is home to over 200 species of wild flowers and plants, adding to the park’s natural beauty.

Sir Sanford Fleming Park
Sir Sanford Fleming Park is a 20-minute drive from Hazelview’s Lower Sackville community at 108 Cobequid Road. The park features 95 acres of land perfect for a quick bike ride, jog or long stroll. The paths are very well maintained and connect to an area known as Frog Pond (at the Northwest Arm of the park) and also to the Dingle Tower. The Dingle Tower is a national historic monument that features fabulous views of the city. Other park standouts include a large playground for the kids, a sizable picnic area and of course the much beloved ice cream stand.

Enjoy the great outdoors this summer at these local parks. Whether you are exploring the trails, walking the dog, going for a paddle or simply enjoying a family picnic, Hazelview Properties has got you covered.
