Get to know Windsor's parks & recreation options

Windsor’s parks and recreation provides residents and tourists with over 2,800 acres of green space in 215 parks, over 35 sculptures and an abundance of recreational facilities and activities. Hazelview’s Windsor communities are closely located to a number of parks, recreational facilities, dining options, entertainment and more. Parks
There are over 215 parks within the City of Windsor, including 2,500 acres of naturalized and formal gardens. Hazelview’s 3445 Riverside Drive East community is only a 2-minute walk away from the scenic Alexander Park. Alexander Park features excellent views of the Detroit River, and is a great place for smaller weddings and receptions. The city of Windsor also has numerous off-leash dog parks within the city core including Broadway Dog Park, Optimist Memorial Dog Park and Remington Booster Dog Park. Take advantage of the city’s numerous and beautiful parks for leisurely walks, playtime with the kids, and for fresh air with the pooch.

Public Art, Monuments, and Museums
The city of Windsor features a large variety of public art, monuments and a comprehensive community museum.  Public art is defined as original artwork that is installed permanently or temporarily for public viewing both indoors and outdoors. Windsor’s Sculpture Park offers a beautiful display of public art, showcasing more than 31 large-scale internationally recognized works of contemporary sculpture by world-renowned artists. The Windsor Sculpture Park is located less than a 4-minute drive away from our 1333 Ouellette Avenue apartments.  The City of Windsor also features over 35 unique monuments throughout the city of Windsor, many featured in the city’s parks. Windsor’s Community Museum has a wide variety of collections documenting both the rich history of Windsor and Canada, including artifacts, paintings, photographs, maps, books and more.

Recreational Activities
The City of Windsor’s Recreation and Culture Departments is a leader in providing healthy living options for its surrounding community. There are over 8,000 programs in community centres and pools, offering people of all ages and backgrounds an opportunity to engage in fun and healthy leisure activities. Options range from swimming lessons, dance lessons, martial arts, ice-skating, tennis, golf and more. Roseland Public Golf Course is less than a 10-minute drive from our 1400 Ouellette Avenue apartments, and features a full service recreational golf and curling facility.
