Healthy Food Stores in Montreal

Partager:

Montreal is home to a variety of health food and specialty stores that focus on healthy, organic, gluten-free and vegan-friendly food, nutrition and skincare products. In the following article we will examine a few local places in the Greater Montreal area that pack a nutritional punch for a healthy and happy lifestyle.

Rachelle-Bery
Rachelle-Bery first opened in 1984 at the corner of Rachel and Berri Streets in Montreal (hence the name) and has since grown into a health food store giant with several locations across the province. This health food emporium only sells organic and natural products, including fresh (and organic) produce, vitamins & supplements, natural beauty products, organic prepared meals, biodegradable cleaning products and more. All products in the store are organic, free of chemical preservatives, additives, colouring and artificial flavors.

Ecollegey
Ecollegey is Montreal’s only all organic grocery store and delivery service. This brick and mortar (as well as online store) carries the finest and freshest available produce, meats, poultry and seafood that are all certified organic. Ecollegey has relationships with many local organic farmers and has partnered with them to provide its customers with quality products from around the area. Free delivery is available to customers on the island of Montreal, with the full schedule available here. Many of Hazelview’s Montreal communities are within the free delivery range for Ecollegey, including our 2085 Rue Guy community.

Marche Bleuet
Marche Bleuet is a popular health food store in the Notre-Dame West area near the Atwater Market. This health hub features a large variety of natural and organic foods including fresh produce, healthy bulk items (i.e. grains and oats), supplements, biodegradable cleaning supplies, natural cosmetic items for face & body, herbal teas and more. They specialize in products that are gluten-free, organic, fair trade, local and even vegan-friendly. Marche Bleuet is only a nine-minute drive or 20-minute transit ride from Hazelview’s 345 Rue De La Gauchetiere Ouest community in Montreal.

Jean-Talon Market
Jean-Talon Market is located in the bustling heart of Little Italy and is also one of the oldest public markets in the city of Montreal. The Jean-Talon Market is known for its large variety of local fruits and vegetables, organic and gluten-free products, large assortment of local meats & cheeses, as well as its fresh flowers, spices, herbs, oils and much more. It is one of the largest public markets in North America and is open both in the summer and winter months. The market is open seven days a week (year round) and more information about hours can be found here. Jean-Talon is located less than a 30-minute transit ride from Hazelview’s 105 Rue Milton community in Montreal.

Whether you have food allergies, dietary restrictions or are just looking to up your nutritional game, the health food stores mentioned in this article can help you get on the right track!
