How to Work in 30 minutes of Cardio During your Busy Work Day

Partager:

Some of us have really hectic schedules and the idea of fitting in a workout can feel impossible. But there are a few ways that you can sneak in some exercise, even on the busiest day. Hazelview Properties has five tips for how you can pack in 30 minutes of cardio during your busy work day.

Get out of bed and stretch

One of the first things you can do when you get out of bed is stretch. Start with just 5 minutes and work your way up to 10 minutes. It’s easy because you don’t need to go anywhere or put on gym clothes. All you have to do is set your alarm 5-10 minutes earlier. Everything is tight after a night of sleep, so stretching is the perfect way to elongate your spine and muscles and also improve your circulation.

Calf raises and squats while brushing teeth

This is a pretty simple and fun exercise that you can do anywhere! The best part is that you will barely feel like you’re exercising because it will become a part of your brushing routine. It doesn’t have to be done while you're brushing your teeth. You can do it when you’re boiling water, microwaving food and brushing your hair.

10 sit-ups and 10 Russian twists before your shower

You might have a busy schedule, but everyone has 20 seconds to spare. Right before you jump in the shower, work your abs with 10 sit-ups and Russian twists. These exercises are good for your obliques and lower abdomen. And if you have a little more time to spare, do 3 sets of 10!

Stretch throughout your day

Take breaks during the day as much as you can -- especially if you sit at a desk all day. Movement is important for circulation, muscle health and mental health -- so don’t sit in a chair for more than an hour at a time. In fact, you should stand up every 20-30 minutes and take at least a few minutes to stretch.

Switch up your commute (take the stairs)

One of the easiest ways to increase your exercise is to take the stairs whenever you have the chance. It might not seem like much, but at the end of the day it will add up! This will increase your heart rate and burn more calories.

So what are you waiting for? Get moving! Hazelview hopes you enjoyed these 5 tips for how you get in some cardio throughout your busy work day.
