Make the most of the Calgary Public Library

Partager:

The Calgary Public Library is more than a big collection of books. While you are sure to find a new favourite novel here, you can also find fun activities, events and electronic resources that can be helpful for work, play, parenting and more. Make the most of the local library near our Calgary apartments using today’s guide from the Hazelview Properties blog team.

The second most used library system in Canada

The Calgary Public Library is comprised of 18 branches. This means that wherever you are in the city, it is likely there is a library nearby for you to visit. Nearest to Lofts on First Apartments (1010 First Street Southwest) and First on Tenth Apartments (123 10th Avenue Southwest) is Memorial Park Library (1221 2 Street Southwest), just a five-minute walk away.

Coming to a library near you

Memorial Park Library is excited to host a handful of fun events for everyone in the family this season. For example, kids will love the hands-on workshop on dry ice, which is held at this branch on Saturday afternoons, while the littlest ones in your home will appreciate Friday’s family story time.

Not just for kids

The library is a great resource for adults, too. For those looking to be more intentional about setting aside time to read, it may be helpful to join a book club here. Want to use the library’s expansive selection of eBooks and apps, but not sure how to start? The eBook and apps coaching class might be the solution you have been looking for.

How to get started

To take advantage of all the books, eBooks, movies, music and events that happen at the Calgary Public Library, you will need a library card. Luckily, this card is free for any Calgary resident. To get your card, complete a simple online registration today.

The Hazelview Properties blog team hopes that today’s reminder of the Calgary Public Library's many workshops, events and thousands of online resources might be enough to convince you to take a five-minute walk to the library this afternoon or over the weekend.
