Make Your Own Holiday Wreath

Partager:

Making a unique and festive holiday wreath for your Guelph apartment is simple with these suggestions from Hazelview Properties. There are plenty of options besides traditional wreaths, so making something interesting and special is fun and easy to do.

Peppermint Wreath
This fun, festive and delicious wreath is brought to you by ‘Gwynn Wasson Designs’ blog here. For this DIY you will need two large bags of peppermints, one 16’’ Styrofoam wreath form, hot glue, decorative ribbon, floral ribbon and shellac (optional). Most of the supplies for this wreath can be found at Dollarama (435 Stone Road West), located less than a five-minute drive from our 40 Vanier Drive apartment.

Yarn Ball Wreath
This next DIY wreath makes for a stunning piece for your own home or as a holiday or hostess gift for others. For this wreath you will need a hot glue gun, 18’’ foam wreath form (or any size you choose), a variety of foam balls in different sizes, a variety of different yarn, 1 yard of burlap, decorative ribbon, and a few Christmas ornaments that you are willing to part with. All of these supplies can be found at an arts and craft store like Wyndham Art Store (125 Wyndham Street North) located less than a 10-minute drive away from our 27 Vanier Drive apartments. For the full instructions including pictures, check out ‘Two Junk Chix’s’ blog here.

Christmas Ornament Wreath
This final DIY wreath is similar to the Yarn Ball wreath above but features a large assortment of bulb ornaments instead of rustic yarn balls. To makes this wreath you will need a foam wreath form in whatever size you like, a variety of bulb ornaments in various sizes, decorative ribbon, and a hot glue gun with lots of extra glue. The full tutorial is available at ‘Sharyn Carlson’s’ blog here.

If you simply do not have the time to make one of the great DIY wreaths above, you can always check out Home Outfitters, located less than a five-minute drive from our apartments at 40 Vanier Drive. Home Outfitters features a variety of gorgeous Christmas decorations for the home, including a large assortment of holiday wreaths.
