Montreal's hottest summer terrasses

Partager:

It’s been a long year of social distancing and curfews, but Montreal summer 2021 is looking bright! As of June 7, Montréal is in the orange zone. That means that Montreal terrasses are finally open again! Capacity for Montreal patios is still limited to a maximum of two people from different addresses sitting at the same table. Now that we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, here are a few places to feel the sunlight on your face as you enjoy some of Montréal’s hottest summer terrasses.

Marcus

It’s been a long time since we were able to say ‘cheers’ on a terrasse with someone. If you’re looking to celebrate somewhere special, there may be nowhere more elegant than Marcus (1440 rue de la Montagne), a seafood-focused establishment located at the new downtown Four Seasons hotel. Its one of the best patios in Montreal. It’s a covered terrasse, perched a few levels above the street, so it’s a great place to hang out and beat the heat. The Marcus Terrace is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 4pm until midnight. It’s only a three-minute walk from Le 1420 Crescent and a five-minute walk from Le Sommet.

Boris Bistro

If you’re on the hunt for a great terrasse in Old Montreal, Boris Bistro (465, rue McGill) is the spot. It’s only an eight-minute walk from La Mosaïque. The terrasse is tucked away from the street, providing the perfect outdoor oasis that’s shaded by greenery and table umbrellas. Reservations are required and must be made by calling +1 514 848 9575. You can even call from the sidewalk!

Café Santropol

If alcohol is not on your menu, but you’d still like to spend some time lounging on a lovely Montreal terrasse, head to Café Santropol (3990 rue Saint-Urbain). This cozy cafe in the heart of the Plateau features a sprawling, quaint and colourful backyard terrasse. It’s located about a 5-minute bike ride from Tour Sherbrooke.

Riverside

There is nothing quite like spending a summer day catching a few rays by the canal at

Riverside terrasse (5020 rue Saint-Ambroise). If coffee (including cold brew) is more your drink of choice, you can kick back along the canal and grab a cup of joe, or soft-serve from Café Malté – a shipping container converted into a takeout café. It’s located at the same address.

Bucky Rooster’s

When you walk into Bucky Rooster’s (3981, rue Notre-Dame Ouest) you may not even realize they have a cozy hidden patio out back. This fried chicken joint is also known for being a great place to enjoy a late night slice of pie.

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day is coming on June 24th. It’s the perfect time to get together with the people you love and celebrate. What better way than by raising a glass with someone special on one of Montréal’s hottest summer terrasses?! Be sure to make a mental note of our favourite Montreal patios when you plan your celebrations.
