Top 5 DIY's To Easily Upgrade Your Balcony

Partager:

Make your balcony the place to be this summer! Hazelview Properties has a few helpful tips and tricks for upgrading your outdoor living space.

Build A Mini Fire Pit Out of A Flower Pot

You don’t necessarily need a big backyard to have a fire pit. You can actually make a small one in a few easy steps for less than $10. You’ll need a flower pot, river rocks and a chafing fuel container. All you have to do is fill the flower pot with some rocks and make a flat surface. Place the container inside and fill in the empty space with the rest of the rocks. Now you can enjoy all the smores you want, right on your balcony!

Create Mood Lighting With Candles and Mason Jars

Mood lighting is everything! Instead of spending a fortune on fancy outdoor candles, use basic candles and mason jars to create a relaxing and romantic mood on your balcony. Mason jars are cheap and they come in a variety of sizes and you can use whatever candles you like, although you probably want to stick to the ones that are half the size of the jar, to protect the flame from blowing out on windier nights. You can place the mason jars on the floor or hang them up.

Turn Your Outdoor Space Into An Open-air Office

During the summer months, you can move your office to the balcony with this Open-air Office idea. It’s small enough to fit on almost any balcony, without taking up too much space, but it’s big enough to hold your laptop and a drink. Now if that doesn’t motivate you to work harder, we don’t know what will!

Noisy neighbours? Hang curtains!

If you’re looking for some extra privacy, hang some light curtains on your balcony. This is a great idea if you get a lot of sun during the day, and prefer to have some shade. Ikea has some good and affordable options for light and airy curtains that work perfectly on balconies.

DIY Hanging Herb Garden

A simple and beautiful way to upgrade your balcony is to make a hanging herb garden.

You can use anything -- mason jars, coffee cups, terra cotta pots -- and hang them on a wall on your balcony. Macrame hangers look beautiful as well, and they also look great as a statement piece. If you don’t have space to hang anything, you can use an herb ladder -- which is just as nice and creates a similar effect.

With these 5 great ideas, you can design your dream balcony in no time! Hazelview hopes you enjoy your new and upgraded outdoor living space!
