Unwinding around the Metropolitan

Partager:

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the city.  Balance things out by slowing down for a weekend. Here are some great places near Metropolitan Apartments to release your stress and relax in the Yonge and Lawrence neighbourhood.

Alexander Muir Memorial Garden (2901 Yonge Street)
These beautiful gardens lead to a walking trail and ravine system. The outdoor facility is open year round but it’s especially lovely now that spring has started and summer is just around the corner. Take a picnic and relax for the afternoon in this beautiful setting where you’ll find trees, flowers and fresh herbs. The gardens are also connected to a trail leading to Sunnybrook Park.

Iyengar Yoga School(3300 Yonge Street, Suite 205)
When things get stressful, take time for yourself to relax and exercise with yoga. It’s an excellent and low-impact way to get a workout. The Iyengar Yoga School is close to the Metropolitan and offers a number of 90-minute classes at different skill levels. Whether you’re looking for a full workout, weight loss or increased flexibility, yoga is a perfect way to relax and unwind.

Another nearby Yoga studio is the Ashtanga Yoga centre of Toronto (3215A Yonge Street, Toronto). The centre offers new students a great deal of $40 for a month. It’s easier to relax and get a great workout when you know the class is already covered.

Nailsense (2712 Yonge Street)
What’s better than a mani-pedi to wind down on the weekend? Nailsense is known as a local favourite for an affordable and accessible atmosphere. A short three-minute walk from the Metropolitan, you won’t have to worry about travelling far and messing up your nails. Just remember to bring the flip-flops!
