Valentine’s Day is a beacon of love, light and romance in the dark of February. From roses to wine, movies to dinner out, there’s one sure fire way to celebrate -- dessert! If you’re on the hunt for some sweet ideas for Valentine’s Day treats, Hazelview brings you this list of our favourite desserts to make for someone special.

Belgian Brownie Cakelets

Coconut No-Bake Cookies (Vegan)

Nothing says love like, well, coconut? This nine-ingredient dessert (coconut sugar, almond milk, cocoa powder, coconut oil, peanut butter, oats, and coconut) requires no oven to make. These bad boys are a cinch.

Valentine’s Day Bark

Line a baking sheet with wax paper, melt semi sweet chocolate and spread it on the paper in an even layer. Mix in whatever you love to pair with chocolate - sea salt, pretzels, sprinkles, white chocolate, cinnamon hearts, etc. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour. Check it out.

Though there’s nothing red in this one, it’s no less sweet and perfect for V-day. Fresh dates are pitted and filled with tahini, then dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with coconut and/or sesame seeds -- easy peasy. Read about it.

Rose Strawberry Panna cotta

This Panna Cotta is a stunning dessert made without gelatin and is suitable for vegetarians. The recipe is a teensy bit more involved, but will be a delight for your better half. Have a look here.

Fancy Fortune Cookies

For a little Valentine’s Day fun, buy a pack of premade fortune cookies (or make them from scratch if you’re brave), melt your favourite chocolate in the microwave or over a bain marie, dip, spread, or dribble in creative ways, let set in the fridge and voila -- a chocolatey fortune awaits!

Valentine Mini Baked Doughnuts
