Valentine's Day Game Plan

Partager:

Beyond the splendor and status quo, Valentine’s Day is all about showing people that you care. And despite what Hallmark and Laura Secord tell you, it doesn’t take that much. A bit of thought, a bit of planning, a bit of time, and a dash of action. To help you show that special someone you care, Hazelview brings you a list of ways to wear your heart on your sleeve this Valentine’s Day.

A Cooking Date (Where You Cook Together)

Nothing says love like cooking. Making a dish for someone takes skill, time, thought, money, effort, and love. It doesn’t have to taste good, just make it and they will smile. See more.

A Romantic Movie Night At Home

Hanging out in the comfort of your home watching Netflix can be really fun. With infinite movies and TV series at your disposal, it’s a great and dirt cheap Valentine’s date option. Add some wine and cheese to make the evening feel special. Ideas here.

Recreate your first date

What could be more romantic than recreating your first date with your significant other? We love the idea and so will your sweetheart. If you had a simple first date (like going to a restaurant or a picnic in the park), recreate it with some added flare. For example, if you went to a restaurant, go back to the same one but pull out all the stops -- bring flowers, order wine, share your meal etc. If you had a simple picnic in the park, upgrade your menu with champagne and gourmet takeout from your favourite place, or make a masterful meal with some of these gourmet picnic recipes.

Take a wine-and-paint class

Wine-and-paint classes are popping up all over Canada for good reason -- they’re super fun! Treat your date to one this Valentine’s Day. This activity is especially great for first dates because there is a point of focus that helps take the pressure off. You don’t need to make much conversation with your date to have fun but the activity gives you something to talk about, you get to be creative, and a glass of wine never hurts when you’re trying to relax! Check out these other reasons why it’s a great date night plan.

Museum/Art Gallery

Whether you’re an art lover or a football junkie, it’s never a bad time to take in some culture. Show you care with some tickets to your favourite museum or art exhibit and make a romantic night of it. Find out.

Breakfast in Bed

Who doesn’t love breakfast, especially in bed? It’s the perfect treat for your partner this Valentine’s day. All the better if you make it a surprise! Check out more.

The Gift of Service

Do something for your loved one. Do the dishes, clean up, cook, do the laundry, make tea, fix a bike or car.  It can be simple or complex, but make it something they don’t absolutely love doing for extra impact.

Go Bowling

Sometimes bowling is not your first choice but it’s a good one! This is one date idea that no one ever thinks about. All the more reason this is a perfect non-Valentine-y Valentine's date that we highly recommend!
