What's up at Western this summer?

Whether you are a prospective student, current enrollee or alumni of the University of Western Ontario, these events happening on or around campus this summer might just be for you. Hazelview’s 1231 Richmond Street Community is located right outside the Western University gates, less than a five-minute walk from the heart of campus.

The Outdoor Summer Market

The Outdoor Summer Market is a weekly summer event taking place on Western’s campus and offers a variety of fresh, tasty and local produce, artisanal products, meats, cheeses, baked goods and much more for sale by local producers. This event takes place weekly from June through August, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday. The Outdoor Summer Market is located at the McIntosh Gallery, across from the Social Sciences building. This event is open to the public, students and alumni.

Little Women: The Broadway Musical

On Sunday, July 26 at 2 p.m. the general public, students and alumni can enjoy a live performance of Little Women: The Broadway Musical. This event takes place at the Paul Davenport Theatre on campus and is a free event presented by the participants of Music Theatre on the Thames. While there is no charge for the event, seating is first come first serve. Doors open 15 minutes before show time.

Games Night at IESC

There will be a Games Night at the IESC (International and Exchange Student Centre)for all students (including undergraduate, post-graduate and professional students) on August 7. This special games night will feature popular board games including chess, Cranium, Charades, Apples to Apples, Clue, Jenga and more. IESC will also be providing prizes, snacks and refreshments. This is a great way to meet fellow students and interact outside the class environment. This event takes place on Friday, August 7 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the International and Graduate Affairs Building.

Trip to St. Jacobs & Elora Gorge

On Saturday August 22 there will be a trip to St. Jacobs and Elora Gorge for graduate students. This event starts at 9 a.m. and those attending should meet at Alumni Hall. The trip will explore major attractions in St Jacobs such as the famous Farmers’ Markets, Market Road Antiques, Elora Gorge and more. This trip is arranged by ISX Canada and an ISX tour guide will be accompanying you on your exciting St. Jacobs journey.

Enjoy a number of events and activities happening on Western’s campus this summer. These are a great way to meet new people, explore new interests and to have a little fun during the summer months in London.
