Partager:

With winter fast approaching, check out Hazelview Properties’ recommendations for places to skate both outdoors and indoors in Windsor. Our Windsor Apartments are located in some of the city’s most vibrant and bustling areas including within walking distance to the University of Windsor, downtown Windsor and overlooking the Detroit River.

The City of Windsor offers public skating in four indoor arenas: Adie Knox Herman, Forest Glade, South Windsor and WFCU Centre. The outdoor rinks include Lanspeary Lions Outdoor Rink and Charles Clark Square.

Charles Clark Square

Charles Clark Square is an outdoor skating rink that opens in December (weather permitting) and shuts down in mid- March. This skating rink is located at 215 Chatham Street East in Windsor. There are supervised hours of operation, which are from Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Amenities include on-site skate rentals, a seasonal concession stand, washrooms and changerooms.

Lanspeary Lions Rink

The Lanspeary Lions Rink is another outdoor skating rink in Windsor. This rink is open from mid-December until mid-March (weather permitting). This skating rink offers year round rentals, free public skating, ice skate rentals and more. Free public skating runs on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The Lanspeary Lions Rink is only a 20-minute walk from Hazelview’s 1400 Ouellette Avenue Community in Windsor.

Forest Glade Arena

Forest Glade Arena is located at 3205 Forest Glade Drive in Windsor and is an indoor skating rink that is open year round. This arena is located in Forest Glade Park and includes a community center, tennis courts, library, skateboard park and baseball diamonds. The skating rink is a double pad arena that is available for ice rentals from late August through to the end of March.
