Your guide to getting around London (without a car)

Partager:

London is one of the most accessible and transit-friendly cities in Ontario, making living car-free easy and effective. Whether you are taking the public bus, the Mustang Express or cycling your way through the city, Hazelview’s London communities at 1231 & 1265 Richmond Street offer a convenient location in the heart of London, Ontario.

Public Bus
London’s LTC or London Transit Commission offers residents a safe, reliable and accessible form of bus transportation. The LTC operates within the city at a $2.75 cash fare, with discounted monthly passes available. In major areas of the city such as downtown, the typical wait time for the LTC is less than five-minutes, with other areas of the city varying in time. The LTC does not operate past midnight on major routes, so if you are out late at night make sure to have an alternate plan for getting home. More information about bus routes and schedules can be found on the London Transit Commission’s website here. London also has a Greyhound bus station located downtown at 101 York Street. The 1512 LTC bus stop at Richmond and University Drive is less than a five-minute walk from Hazelview’s 1231 & 1265 Richmond Street communities.

Mustang Express
The Mustang Express is a late night shuttle service created by the University Students’ Council. The goal of this service is to provide students of Western University with safe transportation home from downtown London after the LTC has stopped operating for the night. All full-time and part-time undergraduate students are eligible to use this shuttle service. The shuttle runs from 12:30am until 3:30am with pickups every ten minutes every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the fall and winter semesters. In order to use the Mustang Express, students must present a valid UWO student identification card with the ‘Mustang Express’ sticker attached.

Biking
London has an extensive bicycle path network perfect for travelling around the city and seeing the sights and sounds of London. The City of London strongly supports walking and cycling as active ways to enjoy the main special features London has to offer. Bicycle routes within the city consist of on-street routes, off-street routes and multi-use pathways. Routes can be found on London’s interactive city map available here. The City of London bike paths can also be seen on Google Maps by searching ‘London, Ontario’ in the map search box, then by clicking on the bike icon. For a scenic bike ride, try Ross Park, less than a two-minute walk from Hazelview’s 1231 & 1265 Richmond Street communities in London.
