Your Pride Canada 2021 guide

Your Pride Canada 2021 guide

Attention all 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, allies, friends and family: It’s time to celebrate your Pride! We hope you’ll connect, gather virtually or safely in-person, and remember what is truly important. Let’s come together to celebrate the beauty and resilience of our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities; acknowledge their history and the challenges, discrimination and obstacles they have faced and overcome; and stand proudly together for a better future. Here is your Pride Canada 2021 guide.

The Pride Centre of Edmonton is collaborating with several organizations this year to offer a variety of safe and fun virtual events. A few events to look forward to are a night of dancing at the Virtual Queer Youth Prom on June 12th, a virtual escape room on June 15th, and a Pride Panel of three amazing artists in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Alberta on June 24th.

Calgary Pride 2021 will celebrate Pride Week from August 27th to September 6th, with both in-person and virtual programming including a ton of fabulous community events. Want to watch a balcony drag show? Fancy a paddle down the Bow River? You can do it all with pride. The best way to stay up to date on all the events is to download the Calgary Pride app for either Apple iOS or Android.

Regina is proud to present the Queen City Pride Hybrid Pride Festival from June 4th to 13th with a variety of virtual and in-person events. Attend a virtual potluck or take a queer improv class – there’s something for everyone! The schedule is being updated all the time, so check in regularly to the Pride Guide.

The 2021 Saskatoon Pride Festival takes place from June 12th to 19th. There will be a wide variety of virtual and in-person events, like virtual trivia competitions and drive-in movie nights, culminating in the Virtual Pride Parade on Saturday, June 19th.

Winnipeg Pride is going digital this year. Pride week will be celebrated from September 3rd to 12th, 2021. It kicks off with the flag raising ceremony on September 3. Events have not yet been announced, so check the events page closer to September to plan your Pride properly!

This year Pride Toronto celebrates the 40th Annual Pride Festival and first-ever Phygital Pride Festival! It’s a combination of virtual and in-person events over two Festival weekends, June 18-19-20 and 25-26-27. There are so many fun and interesting things to do for all ages – from drag queen storytime sessions at local libraries to rainbow challah baking classes! It all climaxes with the Virtual Pride Parade on June 27th!

Capital Pride returns this year from August 22nd to 29th, 2021. The theme of this year’s festival is “We Still Demand!” It’s in honour of the 50th anniversary of the first large scale queer rights demonstration in Canada that took place in 1971. Be sure to check out their Pride Guide and Pride Calendar in August as they have not yet announced the event lineup and schedule.

Montréal knows how to put on a festival! Montréal Pride Festival will be a hybrid festival in 2021, featuring live and virtual programming. It returns from August 9th to 15th, 2021. Events and schedule information have not yet been shared – the best way to stay informed is to download the app for Apple iOS or Android.

To all 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, allies, friends and family – let’s celebrate safely, joyfully and with an absolute abundance of Pride.
