4 places to check out in Ottawa

Whether you’re new in town or looking to explore new-to-you destinations in the city, here are 4 incredible places that are worth checking out in Ottawa right now. Visit them and have some fun!.

Art Is In Bakery

Everyone needs to have a great bakery in their back pocket. In Ottawa, it’s hard to beat Art Is In Bakery where you can enjoy fresh bread, pastries, meals and so much more. Even Guy Fieri stopped by to eat their “destination doughnuts” on Diners Drive-ins and Dives.

Kevin Mathieson is the impressive baker behind the scenes. He’s a classically trained pastry chef. He and his wife Stephanie created the bakery to be a place where they could relentlessly improve their craft. Visit them for your daily bread, a perfect croissant or kronut, a mid-morning snack, an incredible breakfast, a delicious lunch or an afternoon treat. They even bake sourdough and Detroit-style pizzas!

Beyond The Pale Brewing Co.

If you’re a craft beer lover, you need to visit or order from Beyond The Pale Brewing Co. in Ottawa. They’ve been brewing beers for locals in Ottawa since 2012. Visit them to enjoy their incredible Taproom and patio and a pint or two from their collection of 16 beautifully crafted beers poured on tap. They also serve incredibly delicious BBQ made in house by the Smoquehouse team.

Lansdowne Park

We all need amazing gathering places in the city, and Lansdowne Park is an excellent one loved by locals and visitors alike. It’s much more than a park -- it’s home to The Aberdeen Pavilion and Horticulture Building where you can enjoy events and activities, a civic garden, a water plaza, a children’s play area, a skate park, a skating court and more. The Shops at Lansdowne is an extension of Lansdowne Park and encompasses a mixed-use area with 280 residential units and 360,000 sq. ft of commercial space, including a 10-screen movie theatre. TD Place at Lansdowne is another extension of the park that features a stunning 24,000 seat stadium that’s home to the Ottawa Redblacks and TD Place  is home to the Ottawa 67’s. Both venues host concerts and special events.

Happy Goat Coffee Co.

We all need an incredible local coffee shop to visit, don’t we? Happy Goat Coffee Co. fills the void in Ottawa. It’s so much more than just a coffee shop! They source and sell ethical and environmentally-conscious coffee beans in store and online. That means you can start your day with a delicious cup of coffee at home, or out and about, that you can feel good about drinking.

Whether you live here or are just scoping out Ottawa tourism, we hope you’ll take the opportunity to visit these 4 places in Ottawa this year! May you find them as inspiring as we do.
