5 Places to Spend an Afternoon With the Kids

We love having families at our Sunview and Sunset apartments in Ottawa (2880 & 2900 Carling Avenue), but we know that even the biggest toy chest or splashiest pool won't stop your kids from occasionally getting cabin fever. If you're planning an afternoon out with the kids, here are five fun places you'll want to check out right in the neighbourhood. 

1. Learn about local history at Fairfields Heritage House (3080 Richmond Road) which offers tours and family zone activities.



2. Pack a picnic and spend the day at Britannia Beach (2805 Carling Ave).



3. Take a class at Michele Heights Community Centre (2955 Michele) or stop by their weekday playgroup for 3-5 year olds.



4. Go for a movie at Coliseum Ottawa Cinemas (3090 Carling Ave), which offers regular family movies and special Stars and Strollers showings.

5. Get gardening! You'll find nearby community gardens at Bayshore Park (175 Woodridge Crescent) and Michelle Heights (2955 Michele Drive).
