Easter celebrations for the whole family

Share:

Hunting for Easter eggs is a great way to welcome spring with the whole family. As a city filled with museums, there are plenty of places to take your hunt to the next level near your Ottawa apartment.

Easter in Gatineau

Not only will you have a chance to see the Easter Bunny at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau (100 Laurier Street), you can also make your own chocolate egg. The Museum’s Golden Egg Hunt will be happening all weekend long, so families are invited to the Children’s Museum to hunt for all 12 eggs hidden throughout the space and collect a delicious prize. Speaking of delicious prizes, on Saturday March 26, the museum will also be offering chocolate egg making workshops throughout the day (preregistration is required). If you missed the chocolate egg workshop, you can also customize your own wooden egg at their decoration station all weekend. This Gatineau museum is a five-minute drive or 25-minute walk from York Towers Apartments (135-145 York Street).

Easter at the farm

Easter is always a special time of year at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (901 Prince of Wales Drive). Stop by between March 25 and 28 to meet their resident rabbits, new baby chicks and lambs, and maybe even find some Easter eggs. Be prepared to get a little muddy if you decide to stop by for a visit this Easter, it’s just a natural part of farm life! This adorable Easter opportunity is just under a 10-minute drive from Castle Towers (1161 & 1171 Wellington Street West).

Easter at the Estate

Bring the kids to Billings Estate (2100 Cabot Street) on March 26 for a day packed with Easter activities. Crafty kids can decorate their own eggs and get their faces painted, curious kids can hunt for paper eggs to trade for delicious Easter treats, and the Easter Bunny will be there to say hello to everybody. Billings Estate is less than ten minutes away from 2851 & 2861 Baycrest Drive Apartments by car.

Celebrate the beginning of spring by bringing the whole family to one of these great Ottawa museums this Easter!
