Get an outdoor workout in Oshawa

Share:

Now that spring is here and warm weather is just around the corner, you may be looking for ways to ditch your winter workout in favour of an outdoor activity. Fortunately for residents of our Oshawa apartments, there are lots of local opportunities to get outside and break a sweat. Whether you want to hear your heart pounding in your ears or prefer a more leisurely form of exercise, there’s something for everyone in today’s post from Hazelview Properties.

Take a class

Every Buddies Fitness offers outdoor group classes at Courtice West Park near King Street East and Townline Road North. Sign up for personal training, small classes with a friend, or make some new friends at the weekly group classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. This Courtice park is just a 15-minute drive from 380 Gibb Street.

Om outdoors

If you’d prefer a more relaxing outdoor experience, then you’ll love Oshawa’s new outdoor yoga meetup group. So far more than 100 yogis have joined, so you can expect plenty of yoga meetups once the weather warms up. Bring the group closer to home by planning the group’s next meetup right outside at Radio Park (200 Grenfell Street).

Hit the road

If you’re looking for accountability and company for your spring running routine, then head over to the Running Room (C1-941 Taunton Road East). This local store is less than a 15-minute drive from 380 Gibb Street, and hosts running groups on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m.

Get golfing

For something a little more leisurely, book a tee time at one of Oshawa’s many golf courses. Our Oshawa apartments are just around the corner from the Oshawa Golf & Curling Club (160 Alexandra Street) and Harmony Creek Golf Centre (1000 Bloor Street East).

Making outdoor activities a regular part of your fitness routine is a great way to get some vitamin D while you get fit. If you try some of these local activities, you’ll also have the chance to meet new people in your community and explore Oshawa on foot.
