How to layer like a pro

Share:

Layering. We’ve all heard that it’s the best way to get and stay warm during the colder months. Too cold? Add a layer. Too hot? Lose a layer. Simple. But how do you layer effectively and still look fashionable? Hazelview Properties has some tips for how to layer like a pro.

Double Coated

Just like with paint, two layers are often better than one. If you want to paint a fashionable picture this winter, add a thick liner coat beneath a puffy coat to add much-needed warmth without adding bulk. Reverse layering works well, too. This is when you layer the longer, thinner coat underneath a short coat.

Suits Under an Overcoat

The classics never go out of style. A men’s or women’s suit coat under an elegant overcoat is a simple way to stay stylish and warm this winter.

Battle the Bulk with a Belt

If you’re concerned that your layers are going to look too bulky on you, or ruin the lines of your long coat, wrapping yourself in a simple and stylish belt is a great way to bring it all in at the waist for a nice silhouette.

The Power of the Hoodie

The hooded sweatshirt is a classic cozy style staple, and a must-have garment for fall and winter. It looks great when a hood pops out above both casual coats, bomber jackets and more formal overcoats. Plus, when it’s really cold, you can pull the hood up and stay stylishly toasty.

Stock up on Socks

If your feet are cold, you will be cold. Don’t be afraid to layer up those thin, indoor socks with a pair of thick, warm wool socks. Strip off the excess layer once you get indoors.

Hazelview hopes you stay toasty and stylish all the way through to next spring!
