Share:

Ottawa is turning up the heat with a fun lineup of winter festivals and events happening near Parkdale Apartments (131 Parkdale Avenue). Learn more in today’s blog post from Hazelview Properties.

Winterlude

Considered one of the main winter attractions in Ottawa, Winterlude is not to be missed. This three-weekend event kicks off January 29th and includes wintertime fun for the entire family. Dance under the stars at night, eat free pancakes at dawn and don’t forget to check out the glittering ice carvings at Crystal Garden, located at Confederation Park (Elgin & Laurier), a 10-minute drive from Parkdale Apartments. For the latest news and info, follow this festival’s Facebook page.

Rideau Hall

Rideau Hall (1 Sussex Drive), around a 10-minute drive from Parkdale Apartments, is a great place to get to know during the winter. In addition to a skating rink that is open on the weekends, Rideau Hall will host its annual Winter Celebration on January 16th from 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This event is an excellent way to experience Nordic sports and traditions with friends and family alike.

Winter Brewfest

After a successful first year, Winter Brewfest is returning to Ottawa. This adult festival features beers from across Ontario and Quebec, as well as food prepared by some of the area’s top chefs. Brewfest will run from February 12th through the 13th in the Horticulture building and Lansdowne Park (450 Queen Elizabeth Drive), less than a 15-minute drive from Parkdale Apartments.

Winter Frolic

Discover what a Pioneer winter was like at Winter Frolic, happening this season at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (901 Prince of Wales Drive). Winter Frolic is a family-friendly experience that includes demonstrations, hands-on crafts and an educational tour of the ins and outs of a Pioneer homestead. Activities run from December 26th through January 3rd. Parkdale Apartments are a 15-minute drive from this Ottawa museum.
