Don’t miss one of the funniest events of the season during the Ha!lifax ComedyFest. Today Hazelview Properties takes a look at this hilarious festival including an overview, best bets and how to buy tickets. Our 15/16 Bently Community is located close to many of the festival’s comedy venues.

About the Festival

The Ha!ifax ComedyFest has been celebrating laughter since 1995. This festival runs from April 22nd until April 25th and features four days of non-stop comedy fun. Watch performances by comedians from all over North America over 14 stages throughout the city. This comedy fest is one of only three major festivals broadcast nationally during primetime hours on CBC television. There will also be a number of special events, workshops and industry events taking place throughout the festival, open to both well-known and aspiring performers.

Best Bets

Nikki Payne

Nikki Payne’s sharp tongue, engaging charm and trademark lisp have won her multiple Canadian Comedy Awards and Gemini nominations. She has travelled the world with her unique sense of humour, performing at major comedy festivals around the world. She has also been featured on the hit television show Last Comic Standing, making it to the semi finals.

Mark Critch

Mark Critch is head anchor and roving reporter for the long-running Gemini award-winning “This Hour Has 22 Minutes” television show on CBC. Mark has performed all over the world, representing Canadians and our humour wherever he travels.

Sterling Scott

Sterling Scott is a high-energy performer and a crowd favourite. He is one of comedy’s rising stars and has had notable performances at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and at the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He is also a writer for satirical news show “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”.
